Located on the horizontal navigation bar, the Insights tab is a good place for you to learn about the market trends of a focused role or region. hireEZ intelligently analyzes data from 800M+ profiles, 100M job descriptions, and 50M companies to give you actionable market trends. You can go to the page if you are facing a challenging market/search, if you are unfamiliar with the role, or anytime when you want to know more details about the talent pool and strategically source.
In this article, we are going to go through the sections of the Insights report and how you can share the report with your Hiring Managers and other team members.

View Candidate's Profiles and Source from the Insights Page (check out the hyperlinks that make Insights data more interactive!)
When editing the filters under the Insights tab, we suggest you start from a broader perspective. For example, you may open up the skill filters or diversity filter to have a general overview of the market first. You can use the report to set the right expectation of the market for yourself and your hiring team and reflect on these details when modifying the sourcing filters.

Understand the Market Trends
Here we use the Journalists in Greater New York City Area as an example.
The numbers on top of the report show the total Professionals in the searched market. It gives you a basic idea about the size of your talent pool.
To observe if there are any shifts in the job market, check out the percentage and number of candidates who have changed their jobs on the right side. You are able to choose the time range between 6 to 12 months and compare the numbers. (The screenshot below is taken from our test server and does not reflect the real data of the pool.)

Top Titles and Top Skills sections list out the 10 most prevalent titles and skills for the journalists in the region. You may use the information to adjust the sourcing filters. For instance, court reporters work differently in comparison to news reporters, and you may want to avoid the title in your search. Also, many professionals are holding more general titles such as "writer" and "editor." In this case, you might want to define your desired candidate requirement with other information besides their titles - for example, you may add in skills to help focus the titles, or even use our advanced title filters to include/exclude specific titles that you do or do not want to see in your search.

Mandatory & Preferred Skill: similarly, you can refer to the skills section to edit the filters. If you think the terms listed are too broad, think about how you can define your requests to differentiate the candidates.

Top Companies and Top Past Companies: in these sections, you are able to check the trend of the market. As shown in the screenshot below, many journalists become freelance or self-employed as the next step in their careers. You can also adjust your target company list using the data in the two sections.

Top Industries: this section indicates the industries where the professionals are staying. In the case of New York, Legal Services, Performing Art, and Financial Services are also areas where the journalists are actively involved.
Top Locations: you may add multiple locations in the insights filter and use this section to view where the professionals are generated. Since we only have New York here, the results are quite straightforward.

Average Market Values: this section helps you gain a general knowledge of market values in the industry. It allows you to manage the recruitment budget for specific roles to ensure the salary you're offering aligns with what the market supports, and makes it easier when negotiating with the candidates during the recruitment process.
If you are a Team Admin seat holder, you may set a default currency of the Average Market Values for the team. For more information on the feature, please read Admin: How to Set a Default Currency for Team Members on hireEZ.
Diversity: the Diversity chart shows the percentage of underrepresented groups in your target talent pool. You can use the data to set the right expectation for how you and your team can increase the number of diverse candidates in your pipeline and move them through the process.
Please note, at the moment, only the Woman filter works worldwide, the Asian, Hispanic, Veteran, and Native American filters only work in the U.S. The Black or African American filter works in the US as well as most European countries and Canada. When searching in these countries, the chart will be marked as Black (Non-U.S. Countries Only).

Years of Experience and Years in Current Company: these two charts list out the working time length of the professionals and how long they have been staying in their current companies. Please note that the years of experience would include the person's all full-time work experience and are not industry/role specified.

Years in Current Role: indicates how long the professionals have been working in the searched role. As shown in the screenshot, the number of candidates decreases along with the increase of working years before they reach 10 years in the role. This data might be useful if you are looking for journalists for other roles, such as producers and researchers.
Top Schools: shows where the professionals are coming from. Along with the Degrees and Top Majors charts, you can have an overview of the educational backgrounds of the searched professionals and modify the sourcing filters on Education if needed.

As an introductory article, here we only discussed one way of including Insights in your workflow. Once you get familiar with the Insights page and the filters, you can play around with it! For example, you can input target companies to see the data of their employees and whether they are hiring or losing people. You may also choose a specific minority group under the diversity filter and view the insights of the group.
View Candidate's Profiles and Source from the Insights Page
When you are satisfied with the results in your Insights report, you can always click on the Start AI Sourcing button on the upper right to launch the search directly.

You may also go to the Profiles tab here to screen through the list of professionals in the pool and add/bulk add the candidates to your projects to share with your hiring managers or recruiters you're collaborating with. Using the Profiles tab can help guide your research and understand if the data you're seeing is aligned with the type of candidate persona you're looking for.

To make your workflow smoother, all the bars are also interactive and clickable. If you want to view candidates with certain skills or experience, simply click on the hyperlinked bars in the chart that you want to hone in on.

You will then be able to see the list of candidates under the category and add them to your projects. If the candidates from this segment of the data match what you're looking for, you can apply this filter in the filters on the left-hand side of the page.

You can even toggle back and forth between the Insights tab and Profiles tab, clicking on any bar from there and view the professionals that match two or more data categories, adding in multiple layers of filters and requirements to continually optimize your search results and understand how certain criteria impacts the types of candidates you'll find in your search.

Click on the 'x' to take out the filter if you need to go back to the earlier stages.
Save the Insights Searches
In addition to going to the sourcing page with one click, you are also able to save the search using the bookmark button next to the sourcing one.

You can find all your saved searches under the Saved Searches tab on the right. To modify the name of the searches, hover the mouse over the selected title and click on the pencil button on the side.

All your searches are listed under the Search History tab. You may click on the three dots on the right to save the search or to remove it from your search history. You can also click on Clear Search History in the upper right corner to delete all the records.

Export the Insights Report
You can export the report as PDF or CSV files by clicking on Export and selecting the format you need. If your team members have hireEZ licenses, you may also click on the copy button and copy the link of the page to your colleagues.
