hireEZ's data set, within the 'General' Sourcing filters has currently the world’s largest pool with over 800M+ candidates, in our self-learning and self-expanding talent graph. The candidate information is gathered from 45+ platforms with Open Web data including the top career and social media sites such as LinkedIn, Indeed, GitHub, Facebook, Twitter, and more.
When you are creating a new AI Sourcing Task, hireEZ will offer you a list of many filters to choose from to help define your prospective candidates and the sample set of candidates will appear and update in real-time on the right-hand side.
This article walks you through the following major filters before you launch your sourcing.
General
The General filter tab is a good place for you to outline the requirements of the candidates. There are several filters here that are super helpful for you to start the search.
1. Job Title
You can start by typing in the Job Title, and you can specify if the title is Current/Past. The AI engine will automatically generate similar job titles below the text box and you can add them with one click. |
2. Location
Use the Location filter to search for candidates that are available in your city or region. You can input City, State, Country, Metro Area, USA Zip Code, or Continent in the text bar and adjust the radius to be within 15, 30, 50, and 100 miles. You may also click on the Add/Edit Lists button to include a list of desired locations. You may use the filter to find candidates based near the company or in your country. You can add more than one location and you can also avoid locations by clicking on the Exclude from Locations below. |
*Please note: for all the added lists on the AI Sourcing page, you can include up to 200 entries in one list and apply 5 lists in total. In other words, a total of 1,000 entries can be added to these filters. |
3. Skills |
Mandatory Skills are the MOST important skills of the candidates. The skills listed here are “must-haves” and will affect the number of candidates in your talent pool.
Preferred Skills are add-ons and are not mandatory.
![]() |
You can choose from the recommended options or add skills manually. We recommend enabling the Smart Mode feature so that hireEZ will be able to analyze relevant skills of the role and adjust the mandatory skills to ensure more relevant candidates are displayed. If you turn off the feature, hireEZ will search exactly based on your input information. Click on Excluded Skills to clarify skills that you don’t want your candidates to have. |
4. Years of Experience
For Years of Experience, you can choose from the following time periods from 0-2 Years to over 20 Years. If you want candidates with 2-6 years of experience, make sure you click on both “2-4 Years” and “4-6 Years” options. If you only pick the latter one, hireEZ will specifically search for candidates with 4-6 years of experience. |
5. Keywords
In the Keywords section, you may add any words or phrases that you expect to see in your candidate’s profile. Unlike the Skill section which focuses on a particular section of the resumes, hireEZ will search keywords throughout the candidates’ profiles. You can also use Excluded Keywords to rule out certain profiles. |
Company
In the Company section, you are able to filter candidates from targeted companies. This could be your competitors or any top companies in the industry.
1. Current or Past Companies
a. Choose Current or Past/Current/Past on the left to define whether you want candidates who work in these companies at the moment or not. If you check the box of Include Similar Companies, hireEZ will search for candidates from other companies that are similar to the ones you input here. Likewise, you can Exclude companies. hireEZ will exclude your company automatically so that you won’t find your colleagues in your talent pool. You can edit the filter manually if there are additional companies that you'd like to avoid. |
b. You can also create lists for companies that you want to include/exclude. You can Add/Edit Lists from the buttons on the right. Paste a list of names separated by semicolon or newline here. Once you finish, click on Create to add the list to the filter. |
c. If you choose the “Add this list automatically for future sourcing tasks,” you will find the name of the list under the Companies, and you can add the list directly by clicking on it. |
2. Industries
a. You may also pick or exclude specific Industries from the drop-down menu. |
b.When searching, hireEZ will include industries that are similar or closely related to what you have chosen. You can also choose Company Sizes and Company Types from the options below. You can choose one or multiple types here and hireEZ will look for candidates within specific company sizes and types as identified by hireEZ. |
Experience
In the Experience filters, you are able to define the expected experience in more detailed ways. You can search candidates with Years in Current Company or Years in Current Role. As in the case in the General filter, you need to put down all the choices if you are searching for a long period of time. You may also look for candidates with particular Seniority, including Junior, Senior, Manager, Director, and Executive. hireEZ will hunt for candidates based on current job titles and years of experience combined. |
Education
The Education filters allow you to search for candidates with certain Degrees, Majors, or graduated from a shortlist of Schools. You can use the filters to find alumni or graduates from schools with strong academic performance. You are able to choose different degrees from the first filter, and you can add all majors and schools that you would like to have within your candidates’ profiles. Just like when searching for companies, you can Include Similar Majors/Schools, Add/Edit Lists of schools and majors or Exclude From Schools here. You may also limit the Year of Graduation. This might be helpful if you need to look for candidates that have recently graduated or to find alumni from around your own time of graduation. |
Language
You can add the language requirements of the candidates from the drop-down menu under the Language tab. You may put the working language of your organization here or use the filter to search for candidates with knowledge in multiple languages. If multiple languages are input, hireEZ will look for candidates with anyone language skill on the list.
