But actually, AI search can be simply understood as an "advanced Boolean search" from the backend logic. The AI technologies are embedded in the searches to expand the keywords and domain, while it's heavily used in the match and evaluation steps to make the candidate sourcing results even more accurate.
How Does the AI Expand My Search and Why Does it Matter? (Enterprise only)
Many job titles can be interpreted in a variety of ways, and no single job title can represent all the talents you are looking for. For example, "Solution Architect" and "Solutions Architect" are just one letter away while all pointing to the same talent pool. This is where AI sourcing comes into place.
This gives you a quicker and more comprehensive way to search, match, and rank your potential candidates.
Do I Have the Option to Search by Boolean in AI Sourcing?
The answer is Yes!
In the Boolean builder tab, you can add your boolean keywords in addition to the AI sourcing keywords, if you wish to enhance the accuracy of your talent pool.
Please note, if you are putting two lines here, they will be layered as AND.
When you finish editing, remember to Generate Boolean before you start the search.
After clicking on Search, your Boolean will go straight to the Keywords section on the left-hand bottom side of the page.
Boolean Builder as a Separate Search Option
hireEZ also provides a separate feature specifically for the Boolean Builder, which gives you more options to build custom boolean searches. You can locate it in the Quick access section on the dashboard.
You will find 2 options for you to create a Boolean: Quick Mode and JD Mode. Likewise, you are able to expand the filters to specify your requirements.
Despite the limit of Boolean searches by AND, OR, NOT operators, once the keywords are added to the AI sourcing page, hireEZ enhanced a layer of contextual and Natural Language Processing to your search that makes the talent pool expand in an effective manner.

If you are still wondering why we don’t answer this question with a simple option, it's because there is not an “either/or” in this equation.
