When using the hireEZ extension, one issue that you might run into is: "why does the extension keeps asking me to sign? I'm already logged in on the hireEZ Application"
More often than not, this problem stems from Chrome/browser settings and/or cookies that have blocked the extension. Use the below guidance to check and troubleshoot to resolve this issue.
1. Reinstall hireEZ Extension
Open up the 'puzzle piece' button in your Chrome browser window. Click the "..." three dot button next to the extension, and click "Remove from Chrome." We can try to remove our current extension and then reinstall it from the Google web store here.
2. Check the Access Permissions
Open up the 'puzzle piece' button in your Chrome browser window. Click the "..." three dot button next to the extension, and click "Manage Extension". We can then check if the access for hireEZ is turned on for that specific page you want to use the extension on.
For example, if we are not able to use the extension on the LinkedIn page, we can also check if the access for LinkedIn is turned on with the toggle button.
3. Check Other Installed Extensions
Another important thing to check if you have installed some new extensions (especially if the extension previously worked smoothly, and you've only recently started running into this issue). Sometimes there are conflicts between extensions, when one or more extensions are trying to run at a time.
To troubleshoot this, we can turn off/disable all the other extensions we have downloaded, and then try to use the hireEZ extension again to see if that fixes the issue.
Extensions can be disabled by opening up the 'puzzle piece' button in your Chrome browser window. Click the "Manage Extension" button at the bottom of the drop down menu
Toggle 'off' all extensions besides the hireEZ extension. From here you can try to use the hireEZ extension again to see if that fixes the issue.
4. Clear the Cookies/Try to Use the Extension in the Incognito Window
Sometimes browser cookies will also influence the extension. To see if this is the case, you can clear the cookies and then try to use the extension again.
Clearing cookies can impact your day to day efficiency in using your browser, so prior trying this option, you can also try to use the extension in the incognito window first and then decide if the cookies actually need to be cleared. If the extension is working from the incognito window, you will then need to clear your cookies.
To test this, enable the incognito window of the extension first. Go to the "Manage extension" page, click on "Details" button for the hireEZ extension. In the next window that opens up, scroll down to the end of this page and then enable "Allow in Incognito". (We can also refer to this short video for the details.)
If upon trying the above, the extension still does not work, the next step is to clear your cookies. Go to the 'Chrome' button, then "Clear Browsing Data". Follow the browser prompts to clear "cookies and other site data'
5. Update the Chrome Version
Since the hireEZ extension is regularly updated to accommodate the latest browser versions, you can also check to see if your Chrome is updated to the latest version.
6. Check if There are Multiple Devices
Since hireEZ account does not allow multiple devices or users to log in on the same account, you can also check if a colleague tried to log in to your account or if you are logged in on another device. If your account is logged in on another device, the extension will tell us we need to sign in.
If none of the above solutions helped, please reach out to your CSM or contact support@hireez.com. Please let the support team know what extension version you are using so we can better help you to investigate and resolve any issues that are happening
